Hodinkee Mil-Spec

The milspec because there is No Date window, No Blancpain inscribe on the side of the case, no faux patina, no mirror polish case, and working moister indicator.

Which do you prefer, and why?

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec Hodinkee Edition Reference: 5008 11B30 NABA or… Blancpain Fifty Fathoms No Rad Limited Edition REF 5008D-1130-B64A ...

I like the faux patina on the no rad

But I don't like the big logo on either of them

Anytime 😀

No Date 👍

Hodinkee -- simpler, better integrated

The No Rad is a bit of a hodge-podge. Some nice elements (and I don't even mind the date here) but there's just a lot going on and the No Rad indicator is distracting.

Have to agree

Maybe the no rad but the bezel makes it a bit overwhelming

no date

This is the best combo

At least for me ...

This is THE combo. ;)

No date, no question.

Personally the no date

Version for me

Hodinkee Mil-Spec

The milspec because there is No Date window, No Blancpain inscribe on the side of the case, no faux patina, no mirror polish case, and working moister indicator.

Agreed…

IMHO this one is much more symmetrical and I just don’t like th polished case on the No-rad version. Cheers, Jonathan

the H version for sure

 By: blau : January 9th, 2023-03:40
that's my favorite Fifty Fathoms variation! Most of the H collaborations I feel miss the desirability mark in some small way but not this one--it's just right!

The Mil Spec

But I am biased.... just love it! ...

By far the No Rad…

 By: shortys home : January 9th, 2023-14:49
… based on the late 1960s RPGA1, which also had a date 😉 Let me explain why this is such a clear call for me. The 40mm FF editions have never been meant to be close to their inspirations, but a blend of heritage elements with a modern FF. The No Rad embod...

Milspec!

No date, brushed case wins. The absence of the engraved BP name on the side as well. For the a blanc pain with a date, I prefer the Barracuda edition. The best designed Hodinkee BP LE one so far uses the Bathyscaphe case IMO.

This one. The Bathyscaphe 38mm case.

I think the slimmer chamfered lugs work so much better with the FF dial. Credit EWC ...

Neither one for me - wrong lugs, wrong case/bazel proportions, totally wrong watch impression if compared to the historical FF.

It’s strange why Blancpain still has not released 100% reissue of the historical FF having so strong background.

Does the chubby hour hand on the hodinkee bother anyone else other than me?

I struggle getting past this. I like faux patina and date windows. There, I said it! Give the the Barakuda or the Blancpain Mil Spec (non Hodinkee)
