The Miata has an additional six decades of technology over the 356, it had better be faster and shift better! ;)
It all comes down to personal taste and what you find enjoyable. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things. Classics are more to my taste, even my daily driver is approaching 40 years old and I wouldn't have it any other way.
None of my cars are fast, but all are fun.

It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. I don't know of many roads where you can push a new Porsche to its limits, but with an old one you can get away with it and it feels like you're flying. And that's where the fun is. ...
Yes I agree with you but 356 is quite slow :)
I had more fun in a Miata. It shifts much better than the 356 and far more comfortable. I actually plan to get one in the future.

has a squeaking noise from right rear when traveling at speed between 10 to 40 miles per hour. The dealership mechanics cannot resolve it. That's modern day car for you 😏
Got our new 2023 Lexus RX 500H in early February. In early April the transmission had a hiccup and threw all sorts of error codes and cut the power.
Of course when we restarted the car it all became normal again. Lexus has no idea why it happened even though they were able to retrieve error codes. So my car has been in shop since while waiting for them to ship a new trans from Japan. Still don't know ...
