Most of the early restored cars are now reliable. The later cars especially the Celebration editions are good cars.

True, they were a mechanic's nightmare but I see several each week around the San Diego area, both hard and soft tops.

But the XJ-S has never looked good to me. Then or now.

… may be due to the fact I had never seen one in the metal… till yesterday! By coincidence I visited yesterday the work shop were my Type S is being serviced and there it was a wonderful red XJ S convertible. It changed my mind about this model. It’s real... 

It’s all about the legendary ride quality and that V12 creamy smooth power delivery.

An old boss of mine had one in the early 90’s and let me drive it. I was a fresh out of collage kid who grew up around nice cars but never a V12 Jaguar. At first the looks didn’t do it for me but the ride certainly did. The effortless power, loads of torq... 

. . . with manual transmissions. That would be a selling point today. ;-)

Took Steve and me a week to change all the perished hoses on his XJ12C ...  

Had a few in the past but would love to drive a XJS at some point . So cool
