That is correct!

The 328i here has a 2.0 liter turbo charged engine.  It generates around 240 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque.  Good engine, no turbo lag, fairly linear powerband.  Unlike the C250 Mercedes-Benz sedan and coupe where the turbo lag and turbo boost is very noticeable.  It's a great engine.  Great transmission too, shifts quickly and smoothly, with reasonable torque converter lock up (not too much torque converter flex making the driveline feel like a slush).  I find 8 gears too many gears, my limit is seven, I can't keep count more than 7 gears.

The E30 is a classic, but my favorite M3s are the E46 and E92 M3 coupes.  I know, they're big heavy cars.  But these cars are really in a size and class that puts them in the grand touring category.  Two people can sit comfortably in the back seat even for extended journeys.  And a decent sized boot for the luggage.  The only thing I'm missing for a long journey is a spare tire (which I don't believe either model has).
