But depending on where you live, the electricity generated to power these cars does produce even worse pollution. Some say they don't care because that pollution is hundreds of miles/kms away from them.

Or buy it from a green provider.

MY OPINION! Good for the environment? Possibly yet debatable long term. As drivers cars these are terrible. Poor build quality, uninspired driving experience besides the acceleration which is only 1 of many driving attributes; and overall more of an appli... 

Do you own a Tesla ?

Was always underwhelmed. They have marketed themselves like how Apple markets a new phone. These aren’t cars for motoring enthusiasts; they are cars for people not into cars who want to feel like they possess the ultimate ‘anti-car’.

Another view is that, every non fossil fuel burning car that is bought is good for those of us that want to keep classic cars alive. The world is changing.

I agree with you. I just don’t think Teslas are interesting or well made or a product that really matters. Will await some that really are made with integrity and passion. Teslas are made with hype rather than substance IMO.

but at the same time WE WANT enthusiasm and great engineering to be built into the newer options! Tesla is not that option.

Has several Tesla’s, that they have disassembled and are now trying to copy the technology. That’s how worried they are.

other carmakers actually engineer their cars. Tesla just focuses on what markets well, rather than what drives and holds up well after many years. There was a great article written about the level of detail that goes into german carmakers vs. Tesla. Will ...
