My mistake there!

I totally mistyped 8-speed instead of 6-speed smile. Yes, the 2015+ MY have the better eight speed Touchtronic, thanks a lot for clarifying that straight off the bat! You are 100% accurate in saying that the auto trans are geared for efficiency, I truly had to hit the pedal to the metal in the Vanq to get a strong sound and response, especially in the non-S (regular) driving mode. With the MT, it does what you please with it at a moment's notice wink. Interior-wise they felt awfully alike to me, the biggest difference was that the Vanquish had the One-77 style steering wheel, but I honestly didn't care for it too much, I guess being accustomed to a round wheel made me feel more at home in the DBS.... From what I remember, all of the exterior panels on the Vanquish are CF, but on the DBS only the hood and front fenders?? I don't think the DBS has any carbon-fiber in the back of the car aside from the unpainted rear diffuser, and perhaps the trunk itself? Something I will go back to my AMOC acquaintances to double-check, but it's ultimately of little relevance in my opinion.... You're welcome to ride with me in the KR, it was a ridiculously easy and comfortable ride down to and back from San Diego, I swear, it is on-par with an S-Class in terms of interior refinement and comfort. Even the fuel consumption wasn't bad, and the traffic was frequently heavy, but there were fortuitously stretches of very low traffic as well.... Tech-wise it is light-years ahead of the Astons biggrin. Thanks for looking and providing your valuable opinion and knowledge!! Cheers, Filip

DBS one of my all time favorite car designs. Bonus that you can find them in manual.

Yes, 100%

Amigo, the white one is, in fact, a manual! I test drove both back-to-back because I've never previously driven either, and I felt it would be most illuminating to feel how they perform one after another.... The DBS is a 2011 model year, and the Vanquish ...

Ahh. Most 2014 Vanquishes are 6 speed in USA.

USA didn't really get the 8 speed transmission until the 2015 model year. I actually like the look of the DBS more than the rear of the Vanquish. Something about the DBS looks more aggressive. The Vanquish is more elegant. The interior of the Vanquish win...

Here's the detailed run-down of the DBS body....

I guess it's somewhere in between yours and mine initial thoughts - the hood, front fenders and trunk lid are full carbon-fiber, while the door openings and trunk lid surround are something called 'Carbon Preform RTM' .... ...

Interesting!

that I only managed to snap this great shot of the DBS, what a ride!! As I mentioned above, the MT DBS is The One as far as I'm concerned. The ride is more supple, and the visibility out of the car a little better, on top of the most glorious 6 speed MT p...

LoL, same here =)

No more than a year or so from now, but we'll see, I always lean conservative when making such statements .

I thought of you roaming the streets of SD!

If it’s not a daily driver.

I would most certainly go for the manual. Nothing like rowing your own gears and hearing the engine blip and howl. It makes an otherwise mundane drive an exciting one. Hopefully, you get yours soon👍 ...

Agreed wholeheartedly!

Believe me, I'm the type of person who would actually daily drive a manual transmission since I've already done so for a few years during my undergrad school studies in Europe! The MT in the DBS is marvelous, despite the heavy clutch which does take a lit...
