Decided it was time to let go of the massive F-150 after a couple of years of immaculate service. Deliberately chose to go in the diametrically opposite direction with the 2025 Maverick, optioned sparsely with the off-road 'FX4' package. 2L turbocharged 4 cylinder with just under 200bhp. 25-30mpg. I will enjoy this just as much as I did the F-150, in as opposite a context as conceivable

I can imagine this is an optical illusion! This truck is only 121 inches long, whereas the F-150 in 4 door trim with a 6.5 foot bed is a whooping 231.7 inches long!!....
I swear, that was the number on the Monroney sticker....
Perhaps it's the wheelbase?? I'll have to check....

I have not kept up with “truck news” and I had to google the Maverick. Looks like a great choice for your lifestyle. Did the Maverick replace the Ranger in the Ford lineup?
Not at all!
Ford essentially reinvented the segment of the compact economy truck, and now they've been dominating it for a couple of years since Toyota and others have yet to make their contributions to the marketplace.... Thank you, cheers, Filip

Thank you very much amigo, yours would truly be impossible for me to maintain in an environment like urban Los Angeles. Even the F-150 barely squeezes through some driveways here, I had nicked all four sides of it at one point or another.... Much apprecia...
It is a beast. I hate ever taking it to Denver.

A more practical size for intercity use and adequate for most people who don't need to carry or tow large or heavy loads. Hard to ignore MPG in a state that wants to lead the nation in
taxation, plus add the cost of the seasonal blends. Smaller trucks seem to be a cyclic trend but now there's a few to choose from again. Good move Filip!
