I was going to buy an electric car to replace my Megane.
But then I stumbled upon this Mini Clubman in the showroom.
2 liter diesel 150 hp and 350 Nm, plenty enough for our average 18,4 mph traffic here.
All the goodies included and a price too good to be true ? Actually, diesel cars are becoming less popular here .. a lot less !
I had it converted to a 'van' which means big loading space in the back and only two seats.
I really love the rear of this car with the barn doors that can open automatically.
I hadn't even noticed it has a sunroof which is really a big plus.
My red car collection is growing
So in the end it is time to say goodbye to the Clio ?
NO WAY !!!! I will put it back on the road in 2025, never gonna sell this one ....
So about that EV ....
... I'm still in love with the new R5. But that's a project that will be on hold for a couple of years I suppose ;-)

Although I must confess it drives a bit sluggish compared to my Renaultsports . Offcourse when compared to the average cars on the road it drives very well, I always loved Mini's.
I like everything about it....
except for the size itself, because in Clubman form it's getting really close to defeating the purpose of having a 'Mini' in the first place ....

The Renaults will stay 'forever', as for the R5, that remains to be seen in the not so near future. Let's just say the Mini diesel 'van' is a perfect match for my current needs.

It is more and more difficult to get spare parts for the older Mégane RS and after 300kkm I decided to move on to ——> Mini JCW - and also red… 😅 ...
I was going to say :
Never sell a Renaultsport ! But after 300.000 km maybe it was a wise choice to go for something else. That Works looks stunning ! What's the spec on these ? 300 hp ? Or 230-ish ? I'm not really up to date anymore with these Mini's.
231 to be precise… 😅 At least right now. I will do a remap to get to the 300 next year… more is always better… 😂
Only the Countryman JCW gets the 300 by default…
More isn't always better but it certainly helps.
I talked to a guy who has the same Megane as mine, the 280 with the first turbo. He also had the impression the Megane didn't have the promised 280 hp, after a run on the dyne it came out to only have 267 hp. My friends A110 (same 1.8) only had 238 hp ins...

.. i will have to try it out to have an idea. I must admit that I'm very happy to drive my friend his A110 with the standard setup, apart from the ECU remap. But 238 or 282 hp doesn't make that much difference the way I'm driving it.

... but I mostly drive it at 50/60% .... and the original power and torque actually is enough for this car
Totally agree! I had the even older RS2 with 230HP, I did not do a remap there…
But I did with my other fun car - a Smart Roadster Coupé. Had originally only 82HP (with 800kg) - after the remap around 110, but it felt so positively different! 👍🏻🤩

RS2 had 315 hp. I tried the S2 back in the days, great car but the gearbox was a bit clumsy. Also tried the Smart Roadster which was a very cool car. ...

The Clio is having a long rest. And today I spent nearly 6 hours to clean the Megane, never seen so much dog hair in my life :-( Nearly finished, it is now in semi-rest for a few weeks. ...
