farina design

the car was launched in 1951 by ford societe anonyme france based on the vedette and manufactured by facel-metallon at colombes as the simca 8 sport who is also a nice design in a smaller car.
Ford saf will be acquired by simca which will sell the last units built under the name simca comete in 1954
It was in 1954 that jean daninos launched the vega model which will give the name facel vega (at the beginning, the brand was "vega par facel" when daninos launched the FV1)
The comet has a beautiful lines with a not very powerful V8 (from 74 at the beginning to 104hp at the end)
I love this ford comete more financially accessible than the facel vega but the line is more clumsy (not sure that it is the good term in english for "pataude")
