I am considering buying one. But should I go for Continental GT with W12 engine or Continental GT V8 S? On paper GT V8 S looks somehow better? Regards, Kari
I don't think there is a huge difference in performance anyway ... as the V8 already has 500 hp and 660 Nm. I remember trying the heavier first gen W12 with 560 hp and 650 Nm ... and already found it to be very rapid Filip
... unfortunately I have no experience in driving them but I did read up them. V8 is the sensible choice since it is lighter (not by much, 25kg), more fuel efficient, has a better engine sound (according to different car magazines), more agile to drive an...
The delivery was first late 3 months from the promised and then "perhaps 6 more months". So I cancelled the order and bought Cayanne with V8 to pair my 3 years old. Now when the new Cayanne will be introduced, I have pre-ordered that. I will then keep my ...
Buy the V8S since your priority is moving the family around in comfort rather than outright performance. I will say this though - the car is beautifully finished but it is not very focused compared to a Ferrari or Aston Martin but it has a smoother ride t...
But I believe Bentley is in a different league compared to Porsche. It is like saying the Toyota Land Cruiser is better all round car than the Cayenne which it arguably is How about a Rolls Royce Ghost?
You are being too modest. If the management of Bentley and Ferrari could hear you, they would be quite disappointed Notice I said the Rolls Royce Ghost rather than the Wraith or Phantom. For a man who wear platinum Pateks, the Rolls Royce Ghost would be t...
but a platinum PP can be low profile. If I will buy one day a Patek with more than a small diamond between the lugs, then I am mature for anRolls Royce. Best Kari
You said it yourself, you have other cars for sportiness. The V8 does everything the V12 does with added benefit of fuel economy, meaning less stops on long trips.
But the incremental power increase will barely be felt, if at all. But it will be easier and cheaper to service as the general engine is shared among VW brands.
Did you try the new Panamera? Its the more modern car + will be the underpinning of the next Conti to come pretty soon? Any reason not to be loyal to your family of cars? Just my 2cts, C.
I'm sure their CEO will make the same argument tomorrow. However, I'm not a big fan of Panamera and I have 2 x Cayanne plus 911. I just want something new. Best, Kari
I spoke this morning with the CEO of Bentley's importer. He said: "without any questions V8 S". He noted that the driving characteristics are much better with V8 because of the lighter engined and that engine is much more modern than the old W12. Best, Ka...
The W12 engine does not have the rumble of the V8. After driving the W12 for several years I test drove the V8 and could not convince myself to buy it, I just really liked the smooth silky W12. Now that I drive a California T I would be more likely to con...
Definitely get the V8S. I have extensive experience with both vehicles, the W12 engined models have a much more traditional suspension whereas the V8S has a supple and yet sporty suspension. Power difference is negligible as far as my application in conge...
