Curious...

Hey, Bimb,

"In the old days i really wasn't a big fan of the Countach but i did like all the older Lambo's ... when the Diablo came i totally lost interest in the brand..."

I can understand the feelings about the Countach, it really is polarizing and most either fell gaga over it, or were put off. That's the cost of breaking all the rules...  Was the Diablo "worse" in your mind, then, or ...why did you "totally lose interest in the brand" after the Diablo?

(admission: I was a fan of the Countach, even drew my own LP400 Giallo in the '70's; but, like the Royal Oak, I wasn't that smitten by the Diablo at first, dismissing it completely, even disliking it, when it was first introduced. Of course, today, with nearly 20 years hindsight and perspective, I consider it one of the most beautiful rolling works of art ever created, even if it is VERY tiring, even exhausting, to drive, both mentally and physically...)

"... untill the Murcielago and the Gallardo ... now the Aventador is a worthy Lambo in many ways."

Now I'm REALLY curious - did you dislike the Countach and Diablo designs, but like the Murci and Gallardo; was it more you than them; was the mechanics? the reputation of increased usability and reliability? Audi and German ownership?  And why is the Aventador "worthy" when (by implication) the Countach and Diablo were not?

Curious, curious, curious...

Cheers,

TM

ps:
"I think there is one ca missing in the picture ... i think you know i'm referring to 'le beau monstre' ... smile "

Sorry, the Miura belonged to another generation, another era; a great uncle, if you will, rather than a grandfather. To me, the Carabo (and Stratos Zero)  are more direct ancestors and immediate family than the Miura.

" And now you really have to stop teasing us with those pics of the old Italian sportscar prototypes à la Stratos Zero ..... smile "

You mean like this? Naw, never...I will keep haunting us just as I've been haunted for all these decades... smile
