Aaaarghhh ... !!! Another pic !
LOL !
Well, as a very young kid (10yo) i did like the Countach, it was a magical car like the Zero and colleagues .... but a road-worthy one, not that a knew the difference between a road car and a prototype in this case.
I think all the bad stories around Lamborghini in the 80ies and 90ies and also the 'pimp'-factor were the cause i was quite suspicious ... i 'knew' a few guys , two driving a Countach and another a Diablo ... they were either pimps or had an Italian restaurant, one even had a big 'poisonnerie' , that's not bad but his Diablo gave him lots and lots of troubles. 'People' also told me that after every drive you had to adjust every single carburettor (there were 12?) of the Countach for the next drive ...

... .
One day a friend told me he had seen the Diablo arriving at a restaurant and the guy and his wife couldn't open the doors ...

.. so they were there in the car for quite a period before something happened .. well actually they just drove back home

. (don't know how they got out back home).
A car salesman i knew very well bought the car afterwards and told me it was quite an adventure to drive ... doing 250 kph he needed three lanes because the front end became very light, i had a similar experience with my cousin's Toyota Supra Turbo at 180 kph ... so i think in both cases it had to do with adjustment settings done wrong or worn dampers. And the design of the Diablo didn't speak to me .. in fact i still find it the least interesting Lambo ... bear in mind i have never driven a Lambo so it's just on looks ... .
By the time the Murcielago and Gallardo came i found back the love for these cars ... purely on looks and sounds ... i have never driven any Lambo (i wouldn't fit in a Miura or Countach anyway as i know i don't fit in a Ferrari 328 or 512 BB) ... .
Seven or so years ago i was even considering to buy a Gallardo, i had some spare money and maybe the bank would lend me a bit ... hmmm .. lucky i didn't do that as these last years business isn't really what i would like it to be (it's a disaster ...) .
The Aventador is like most modern super cars reliable and driveable but yet also very special, though i must say that i find 700 hp absolutely unnecessary ... err .... if you know where i live you would understand that a bicycle is enough for daily transport ... (i'm once again on the verg of loosing my liscence and the fines keep filling my letterbox).
Don't get me wrong but i have always found Lambo's übercool but because of their 'bad' name i really didn't pay interest to them, my dream car was a Ferrari .... .
So the Countach and Diablo were surely worthy ... but we (me & friends) didn't realize because of the bad name they got :-( ... . I can also tell you that if you dive a Ferrari or certainly a Lambo over here in Belgium people really think you're a bad, antisocial crook ... . If you overtake a car people start to wave and flash their headlights, you don't have to drive fast then. When you drive fast (like coming out of a corner at +/- 0.6 to 0.8 g) people either don't understand what's happening or they really start to freak out ... i had the pleasure of seeing people freak out every day when i was young

... nowadays it's too difficult too drive fast anyway.
So can you imagine the Bimb coming out of a corner at high speed with his LP640 .. ??? I'd be in jail within the first month of ownership

.
We don't often see a Lambo over here, let's say once every two year if we're very lucky .. so last year i saw 2 different Murcies and a Gallardo within the week ... i was like a little child looking and admiring ... standing next to a Murcielago is really something, those wheels and the shape of the car ... no Aventador can touch that, even considering how fantastic it is in its own way ... our Luc did an amazing job, that's was the first thing that came to mind

... i was stunned !!! A couple of days later i was in the car driving pretty slow in a little town and suddenly there was a Murcielago coming towards me ... again i got the shivers ... 'what a car ' ... .
