My Mom's XJ6 from the same period was white. When she first bought it, I remember its weaknesses (fading brakes and less than crisp handling at speed). But then later, once I really drove it (after she died), I realized how wonderful it is -- a luxury car in the best sense of the word. Supremely comfortable, rich wood and leather, and a strong, quiet engine -- not fast off the line, of course, but very nice torque and pull. Last of an era really.
