Audi TT. An old love of mine.

Aug 09, 2019,10:00 AM

Among all the cars I had, there are some which I deeply regret, or, if you prefer, I have fond memories of... Such as the Audi TT.

I had the first generation, the 1,8 180 HP. I tried it and the 225 HP version, and I found the 180 HP more living and funnier to drive, due to the fact that it was much lighter.

I loved this body, and still love it a lot. The interior, too, quite minimalist but very nice looking.

The only issue, the view... You have many dead angles on the front sides, and you had to be very careful when driving in town.

Here is the 3.2 version.

Mine was black... wink

Any lovers of this car?

Although I never owned one. That very 3.2 in orange is the first one I drove and loved it. A friend recently got a TT-RS and got me wanting one. ...

The only thing that's keeping from...

Getting an RS is the lack of a manual transmission.

I have a magical 5-Cylinder engine in my 1987 Audi 90 quattro

 By: hashluck : August 21st, 2019-10:02
which of course has manual transmission and only 14K miles from new ...

Arrrggghhhh! I miss mine, too!

Mine was Dolomite Gray. I loved the hell out of that car. I like the new TTs but not quite the same as the first generation. This post made my day, Nicholas! All the best, respo ...

Yes we do share many similar tastes, my friend, and that makes me smile

If you do get another TT, I would be so excited for you. I have thought to do the same many times.

I think they ruined its looks with the "update" ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : August 9th, 2019-11:44
... that became necessary after the first lawsuits were filed against Audi and included the weird spoiler, ruining the hitherto sexy rear. Marcus

In the US they do offer a spoiler delete option...

But, you do get a retractable one. ...

That’s a memory.

I had the 3.2 250bhp Quattro. Also black! An unmistakable design, the first time I saw one it was like nothing else on the road. Pretty sure there are no picture of it as it was before I owned an iPhone!

Such a cool car!

I had the 3rd generation model for three years. The interior was something special as well with the digital instrument panel, the air vents and other details. Miss that cool little car. Claus ...

A modern design classic ...

I have a friend with a 3.2 that has only done 18,000 Kms. ! Sounds great 👍

I believe it is a blast to drive. 👍

Enjoyable to the max. I understand where your coming from. Cheers 🍻, my friend. Geross

Its getting on a bit now, and a recent search for a new(er) car didn’t inspire at all. So I got this one chipped - 15% BHP and 40% torque - the latter really kicks and deploys where it matters on twisty country roads. I have a new car 🙂 ...

Chip express - torque max

Did better than advertised on a rolling road test at 480NM. I’m going through tyres quickly and the 4WD wheel slip compensator sensor flickers a lot more.

MkII 1.8 tfsi...

By: Abacus : October 20th, 2019-00:21 Oolong gray. I love it, it's a great little car. Not a sports car with this little engine more like a mini-GT. The handling is nice. TT's are practical too. I can still, just, squeeze my kids into the back without complaint.

Like the color [nt]
