On an almost two seater car with a sliding door, like from a van! Beautifully incorporated into the design. A very useful feature for a city car in narrow car parks.
I test drove one too in it’s days.
The dealer wasn’t very happy when he saw me passing by .... both doors open 😁

I came accross this 1007 in a car review but not seen it on the streets.
I wished it were rear wheel drive! That's one thing about the SMART car I found very attractive!
This car might be too small in USA, but I did have the pleasure of driving a Smart car in Los Angeles and San Francisco as a rental and I found it to be a car that handled incredibly well!
I had one, loved the sliding doors, so easy to park! Ended with a left-side collision with the front of a large truck
had to use the horn like crazy to have the truck to stop: the guy didnt notice i was on his fender... crazy scary! Every time I park at home (sub-level), I miss that car hehe
You could have slide the door fully open and jump and roll out of it! 😀
Accidents with a truck are truely scary.
not really as I had the "IVECO" wording right next to my face! Ans to be frank these doors are a pain to open when theres no electrical power.
I was like a fly stuck on a bumper... Makesyou feel soo little haha. But low speed (30kph) so i just had to walk back toa subway station to get to work.

I am driving a right hand drive car from the UK here in Germany and simply forgot sides for a moment 😄
