Car Show By The Bay Be Blue

We spent a couple hours at the SD Yacht Club today, invited to a Father's Day lunch with friends. It coincided with their annual car show by the bay. And the theme seemed to be Bring Blue or Go Home.

Lincoln Continental

Fiat Jolly in the foregeround and Jag XK-E in the back.

A trio of High Performance (German) cars...

Across the parking lot you can see the Bay isn't exactly Blue today.

Mid-Fifties Ford

Triumph, Land Rover and Mustang "snout" showing

The XK-E again. The same couple has had it for about 50 years.

Dark Blue ominous-looking Ferrari 812 in the background was the surprise (and winner) of the day.

How did those non-blue cars get in here?

Nice blue detailing on Mustang with matte, non-color paint job. Looking at all the cars here, I wonder: how they find time and funds for their yachts?

Now we're talking, Mustang GT convertible with a blue Bronco in the background.

I didn't notice what type of car this red one is. Perhaps a 924, 944 or 964. Definitely front engine power.

I got closer to the Ferrari, and heard the owner had special-ordered it, and it just came a month or so ago. LOT$ of carbon fibre! Don't ignore the Ford Woodie Wagon either.

This scares me -- having a bunch of expensive boxes in the very nose of the car. At least the even more expensive engine is back aways.

Here come the non-blue cars now, starting with an XK140

Morris Minor convertible -- at my first job (in 1967) I car-pooled with a guy who had this car's twin. It leaked like a sieve and the heater wasn't worth much at night in winter in Seattle.

A nice Ford Ranchero, equivalent to the El Camino

My car knowledge does not extend this far back, but Bill might know. I can see it has a Chevy small-block.

A luxury station wagon, wood-grain version Chevy Caprice.

Brightest car of the show!

Thanks for joining us.

I had to wear an Omega at the yacht club...
