Audemars Piguet

Given Bernard Cheong's recent post on screws... and all his discussions about value. I thought I'd share a little piece of Audemars Piguet history that I wear weekly. Its the more formal companion to my AP RO ... and it is the watch, out all that I have, ...

Thank you very much for these beautiful pictures. What a great "transformation", I love it. The dial is to die for, so is the marvellous movement. I find the inscription on the dial quite interesting, "Brassus" instead of 'Le Brassus" followed by "Geneva"... 

Thank you for your comments! Much appreciated, I hadn't thought specifically about the Brassus and Geneva. I'll look into it more, but I know that the watch mas marketed for the US market. Hence why they have the 'adjusted' and 'Extra'. And the 'geneva' i...

That's why I think that the non-RO AP pieces are so interesting, There's really a side to AP that we don't see much on the web. I guess folks who buy an AP chronometer (the one currently on the market) aren't interested in sharing it much ;) But yes, Vint...

I have a new and complete appreciation for vintage Audemars Piguet watches, and without question, I will look to add one or more in the future. The dial, hands, and movement on yours are sensational!

About watches and friendships, can't remember who started it, but I was too busy to contribute at the time... but this watch set off a really great horological friendship with its previous owner. I'll have to set out the time to write up a post on HoMe :)... 

Watch... At the contrary, I would say that I like that. Generous case, superb movement, nice dial, isn't that we are all running after? Just the fact that it didn't cmoe this way, in its time, to not fool anybody, and what's not to love? I saw this kind o... 

As I wrote, I look forward to the history of how this sample was created.

So it is not like these 'hockey pucks' that are everywhere now ;) but yes... someday, if I could have Prescher or somebody like that recase it in a proper case, it woudl be nice... yet its happy where it is.. and I need to make a UN purchase... until anyt... 

Stunning dial and mobement! :) When it comes to the recase I am a bit torn.... I prefer to keep watches original, but on the other hand. How often would I use a pocket watch. ..? Best Blomman

I agree with you and Nicolas about marriage watches. I myself tend to be VERY suspect of these...and usually I tend to not like them at all, unless it is something that truly deserves to be recased. I saw one of the 62 movements made by seiko (the observa... 

As well as old Railroad USA Walthans and Hamiltons. I have an old B29 superfortress bomber's watch, also made beautifully...given to me from a late deceased pilot from the Pacific War.
