I think the term is more related to the higher volume achieved than to the type of repeater movement. Probably is a minute repeater with louder gongs and fine tuned pitching, but maybe I just made up everything. I'l let the experts enlighten us.

I've listened to a couple of versions - loud, with great rytm and harmony.
By using a separate gong they eliminated the dependence on the shape and composition of the case. The JLC approach of attaching gongs to the crystal was a step in that direction but the supersonnerie is technically on a different level.
At first, before posting, I also thought it was a regular RO with sub seconds, then I saw the sonnerie lever. :)
It would be nice, something different. I guess they have used the movement from the CODE 11:59 Vte

I would love to listen to it. I don’t think highly of the sound pattern on the case back though.
