I hate the new colors
They are ghastly and it bugs me to no end that AP will do this. Actually, I was told not to express my opinion on this in case it offends some owners but since you ask for opinions, I supposed it's OK for me to say. I think the new colors especially the purple, Tiffany blue etc makes AP looks like a fashion brand and cheapens the brand and the Diver range. The Diver in black and white is nice and maybe the blue but that's what they should limit them to. For the record, I actually own two divers, the original black 15703ST which is such a classic and the ceramic Diver.

Why the hate?
I’ve longed planned on getting a black dial RO Diver 15710. But I have a Panerai Luminor that has a lot of similarities. Obviously, the 15710 is the much finer piece in every respect, but they’re both black dial, steel, large, rubber-strapped, sport watch...
it's not real hate, it is just the chosen colors wich I don't like.
I own the 15703 and the 15707CB, wich I both adore lot. The 15707CE is very cool, as are the Geneva boutique lime green. As you see, I do like colors on the diver, only wish they had gone for something else then the current collection.

I agree generally with your thoughts, though I’ll say that I think some of the new colors are more restrained than others. I think I could wear the white dial without anyone doing a double take, but I think the brighter candy-colored ones would attract so...
It is often the case, when a watch came first with a dial for some years, and receives, after a while, a new or several colors. It disturbs. Not hate, though.

For me the best one is the Black Dial , i am considering now purchasing the White dial, the others colors are also good , but not for everyday use

I agree that choice is good.
People get upset that not all of the choices suit them, which is of course the point of having many options. Live and let live.
