Audemars Piguet's Burgundy Code 11.59
I'm a colored gold guy and I know how much the first Code 11.59s have been criticised, but this Burgundy model, ref. 15210BC.OO.A500KB.01, has always appealed to me.
The gorgeous fumé dial, the sandwich case, curved crystal, beautiful rotor with the coats of arms of the Audemars & Piguet family: what's not to love, here?
I don't own it and don't intend to acquire it, but I always like coming across some photos of it.

That’s another Code which would have been very nice with a black ceramic case center.
A number of the early Codes were appealing to me, but I don’t know why AP didn’t produce them in steel till much later. A more affordable steel option may have made it more accessible and appealing from the start. But I digress. A beautiful piece indeed. ...
True, ceramic case center would have worked too.
But I also like it as it is. And I personally like it that it's white gold and not steel (just my preference of course).
I have to admit, that I wasn’t a fan when this was introduced, but it really appeals to me now.
I like the case characteristics ( unique side profile ) the dials are very attractive ( especially the smoked colors ) and the movement is finished nicely. Time has given me a chance to appreciate this watch. Just my 2 cents.
When trying on the Code

I agree...this one is particularily nice...I always liked them and not sure exactly why they weren't received more favorably...elegant and classy design combined with some everyday wearability...it's great!
