Agree to large extend

The time only indeed has too much open space and looks indeed pretty big on your wrist.
Take the AP time only and put it I.e. next to a Moser, or PP or a VC time only. There is a huge difference.
I was met with a “dial designer” and he stated that getting the balance into an almost empty dial, is one of the hardest things to do.
Which makes sense because the designer has virtually nothing to work with.
Since the introduction I still can’t get rid of the idea that AP overcompensated the empty time only dial, but a very busy and crowded chronograph dial.
It’s just too busy. And if memory serves me right, they also sell it with that averine material (with all the little sparks in it).
I started by saying that I agree to large extend with you. There is one thing our views might be different.
You mentioned ; “it doesn’t feel AP enough”.
I belief it very much breathes and feels AP, but unfortunately not as positive as they must have had in mind.

I dug up some pictures of trying on the code 11.59. I have to say the case is a lot more compelling in person, and I love the details on the case. However, the thinner / lack of a bezel and loads of empty space on the dial didn't get me excited and makes ...

Please could you elaborate? Isn't that what most watch companies do with cases - e.g. Royal Oak with multiple dial/complications? Or the Nautilus case with multiple dial/complications? I probably am missing the direction you are thinking of.
Thanks WH_. It will be interesting...

... 1. to see future models and how large the tweaks are, and 2. to view all this debate 5-10 years later once they either have a successful line, or write this off as an experiment

To me the case feels AP, but the dials don't - so the first overall impression is too generic. The link to AP lies just beneath in the case and that's why the case is brilliant. I just hope they do something about the dial/bezel soon ( which I have confid...

I’ve seen that case and yes that’s very uniquely designed.

For me, its difficult to generalise. There's a few instances for me of Movement, Case, Dial - Zenith El Primero comes to mind. And Case, Movement, Dial - Reverso Grande GMT But could be exceptions - the dials definitely drive first impressions. Would be i...
