Joining the club

To preface this post, I have to mention my sincere gratitude to the Purist forum participants as it is this place which drew me into the Lange world, and has provided the opportunities to meet some truly genuine, welcoming and passionate people.

After posting a thread in June of 2014 detailing my trip to the Lange manufacture in Glashutte, I received a very nice message from a Purist, and thus started a conversation which ultimately lead to a meetup occurring this past weekend.

Besides a great meal and even better conversation, this meetup had another significance to it..I am happy to share today a new addition, one which I am still trying to believe is actually in my hands..

Finally able to say I have joined the Zeitwerk club.

This watch has lived in the 'Someday..' category for me ever since it was announced. Seeing them posted about only added fuel to the fire. So when the opportunity arose, I could not say no!

This is a piece which has been reviewed in depth already, so I will not rehash details, which is probably for the best as I have been at a loss for words every time I look down at my wrist and see it quietly ticking away.

The dial can take on such differing personalities in varying sunlight, here is one with bright natural lighting

Some initial thoughts:
- Wears surprisingly smaller than I would have expected (a good thing!), could be due to the black dial
- I love the audible 'click' as the time changes in quieter settings
- The thickness was an initial surprise, however sits very comfortably on the wrist
- Has been described as a casual piece, although I will do my best to see it well-suited to an office setting wink
- When the Zeitwerk was first announced, I was puzzled that the movement and development was so complex; however seeing the jump occur every minute, and realizing the complex interactions required to store and execute the instant jump was mind-boggling
