There are many grey areas

I kind of agree,ok we all know how hard an d difficult Pt is and all the beautiful aspects of this gorgeous metal(i looove pt don' t get me wrong) but as I said in the past,you pay for exclusivity(watch brands know this).If we could bring examples of the overwhelming difference in price between gold and pt watches ,we could stay here for months.The fact is that ,no its not justified ,there is no way that a pt case or a deployante could cost soooo much more ,absolutely not, it never adds up,but if you want that extra exclusivity you have to pay(it also applies to cars,clothing,leather goods,shoes,,,,,etc etc etc).Nevertheless you feel the difference between pt and for example wg and I am a huge fan.Wish it was a bit cheaper !!!!alas!,Mo.

the lange sight states the watch is 40mm in diameter. i wonder how if looks in the metal at that size. its quite the jump from the 35.5 of the previous 1815. your thoughts would be much appreciated . cheers and thanks for the post kevin

The size of the new 1815 is: 40 x 8,9 mm Yes, it is a big step, but don´t forget about the new/bigger movement. To me it looks quite good (from the pictures). RL is 40,5 x 10,6 mm, Lange 1 is 38,5 mm and a bit higher, .... Most Lange´s are well balanced. ...
