G'day,
the new 1815 seems to be universally appreciated - hence a press kit group shot and an interesting detail may be too:

It´s MUCH more beautiful in the metal, therefore all signs indicate Lange to have another champion here!
Not the least due to it´s interesting pricing; less than 1.500 Euro over the least expensive Saxonia model (reference 215.033, 12.900 Euro, German price list including VAT)!
Cheers,
Peter
It's good to know the affordability for such a treasure, and the screen shot is perfect !
Danke
Stephen

...and to me the new 40mm size is perfection. I think the watch is suitably robust in its new casing, while maintaining an air of elegance. With its gorgeous blued hands and multi-level dial I think this line is a home run for Lange.
Cheers,
Daos

Hi Oliver,
it´s in the range of 26K Euro, which seems to be in line with usual Lange pricing for Pt cases.
And it´s a beauty!!
Nonetheless, i LOVE the blue hands. Even with Pt, i´d stick with these
Cheers,
Peter
Am curious how a platinum watch is still commanding such a premium over 18k gold. Nine months ago when gold was $1,000 an ounce and platinum was approaching $2,100 an ounce it made some sense. But as of today, gold is $860 and platinum is $927 an ounce. There was a time a few weeks ago when gold actually surpassed platinum. So do you guys still think that platinum watches will still be priced almost double that of gold watches?

I appreciate the welcome. Yes, I've spoken to jewelers and they all say that working with platinum is difficult as it is such a hard metal, particularly compared to the softness of gold.
I guess I'm curious as to the attraction to platinum though. If you have to tell people its not stainless steel or its not white gold, is it worth the huge price bump? I understand its a matter of preference and do not mean to put down anyone lucky enough to afford platinum, it's just my ignorance that guides the question. One huge benefit, if true, would be that because platinum is a harder metal the watch will be able to sustain a bump that a similar bump on a gold watch would leave an unsightly blemish. Also, it would never need replating like white gold will need over time.
Am I on the right track?
