A. Lange & Söhne

Thanks Sham!

I went to the AD yesterday to strap both on and compare them side to side. First, i realized that i fully am attracted to the 1815. The case is interesting, the dial is so balanced, old school, detailed and those Arabic numerals are delicious! The Lange 1 is gorgeous but felt sterile.. very sober.. too sober? i find the Saonia Thin 37mm much more interesting and well executed. i know i "NEED" to have a big date but the 1815 is uniquely Lange as well, has all the historic DNA and feels like a bridge piece between the company's past and resurrection.
Also, when it came to winding, the L1 wasn't as smooth as i thought - very similar to my Saxonia Thin. As for the 1815, there were two pieces, a white and rose gold. The white gold had a very resistant winding but the rose gold was buttery smooth!
As for the 1815 Chronograph, I'm thinking if i go with the 1815 up down then maybe i should aim for a datograph? has a big date, chronograph, power reserve, its iconic and the movement is incredibly beautiful!
Lots to consider!
