A. Lange & Söhne

Sorry to revive an old thread!

I've been seriously considering my first Lange, to commemorate a career achievement. Being a frequent traveler I've always been drawn to dual-time watches, but I have found that not all dual-time watches are made equal.

I have been researching on the Timezone, and I'm guessing but have not been able to find definitive information on these 2 features:
1. The date function is linked to the main dial (i.e. the left one)?
2. The second timezone hand only jumps forwards when the button is depressed?

Reason I ask is, in my mind, a great dual-time watch should have a few qualities:
a) Ease of adjustments when traveling, no need to hack the watch (the JLC-based AP and VC dual-time watches fail here, requiring a full reset to make full use of the design)
b) Ability to tell day/night in reference/home timezone through a 24hr hand or day/night indicator, not so critical for local timezone (I must know if it's day or night where I am)
c) Date advances with local timezone, and not reference/home timezone

I'm guessing given 2. above, setting a Timezone would be more complicated. Just to use an example, if I was traveling from HK (reference/home) to London (local), I would have to click the bottom pusher 16x (London is 8hrs behind HK, and the second timezone only jumps forwards), and on the return, 8x to get back to HK time? Also, given 1., at some point in London the date displayed would be incorrect because the date is linked to the main dial which is still on HK time (8hrs ahead). This would be more obvious if the time differences between home and local were larger, say 12hrs, where half the day the date displayed on your watch could be incorrect.

Would love to hear some user feedback! 2. I can live with, but 1. would be a drag. But I guess if the date function is linked to the local timezone, it would just amplify the adjustments needed. To use the HK-London example again, first step would be pressing 16x on bottom pushers. But then the date would be advanced and wrong, which then requires pressing the top pusher 30x or so?
