If you like Roman numerals the 39 creates the inverted triangle with the 10/2/6 while the other geometric triangle is the date window with the two sub dials.
The 41mm can be argued to have a better aspect ratio or wearability since it’s wider but not thicker. I do t mind the hockey puck look/feel case of the original
Have a longer power reserve is nice on the 41 and if you like up down indicators that is a plus
