This could be wonderful news.
But let me show you right away why I think it isn't as wonderful as it could be:

- The Cabaret Tourbillon measures 29.5 x 39.2 x 10.3 mm
- The regular Cabaret, here in platinum, measures 25.9 x 36.3 x 9.1 mm
Well, the Tourbillon is simply too big, imo!

Now, let's see how this new Tourbillon Cabaret compares to the 2021 Handwerkskunst ref. 703.048 (on the left below).
The Handwerkskunst had a platinum case and a dial featuring a grey matte background with hand-engraved lozenge pattern in central cartouche and tremblage engraving as well as semi-transparent enamelling.
The new Tourbillon has a honeygold case and a black-rhodiumed honeygold dial with sculpted relief elements.
The two movements are identical (calibre L042.1), but differ in their finishes:
The new Tourbillon ref. 703.050

So, even if I'm enchanted that A. Lange & Söhne is releasing a new Cabaret...
... I'm disappointed that it's a Tourbillon, because of the size and because I personally don't like front Tourbillons piercing the dial...
... and I'm not greatly impressed by the look: I really dislike, in particular, the cut Roman III and IX, which were already featured on the Handwerkskunst...
... the release of a new regular Cabaret would be a completely different story, imo.

Tourb looks small, dial looks bland, the sub dials seem off, the broken Romans. Honestly looks like a fake🤣

but wondering why there’s a small seconds with the tourbillon. Is it not a one minute tourbillon?
It is a one-minute tourbillon, but with stop seconds.
I think the subsidiary seconds is intended to allow a perfect setting of the time... Just my guess... Best, Emmanuel

I was very excited too when I saw this release, but upon closer inspection, I was necessarily a bit disappointed… Best, Emmanuel
It may have had slightly broader appeal.
But I like this release. From the wrist shots here, it’s evidently a big watch top to tail - we’re all different but my eye doesn’t see a proportion problem. And, with Lange’s first stoppable tourbillon, I think it’s sufficiently special to get the HG tre...
There’s no doubt that the stop-seconds complication is great.
And the watch definitely has its own appeal, especially if size isn’t a problem for you.

Besides that, the various dial apertures (besides the date) don’t sit well with me. I would love to see the Cabaret come back in the original case. That was perfection. ...

Never loved the Cab Tourb much either, because of the segregated dial and the size.
Look at the top half of the dial. You see rectangles within rectangles (mostly the date window frame, and also the HG lines near the dial edge). All straight lines. Looks like nice kitchen cabinets. Now look down south. We just left the kitchen and entere...

we can indeed and should go back to 2008, not 2021! And that makes it all the more difficult to understand why they're stubbornly sticking with this format, which is clearly too large...

It's interesting how it wears so large
Looks much larger than e.g. a Reverso. Probably because the dial is so large. I quite liked the first pictures, but you really took me down to earth as well On the wrist, it looks huge!
The regular version is more balanced with great lines.
The tourby with the 2 subdials look bottom heavy and the silhouette reminds me of micky mouse…….😅
