Especially given the recent threads involving Zeitwerks, I'm motivated to post these photos of two great PT pieces taken a few months ago -- the "standard" PT watch and the "stealth" Luminous. Each the property of a separate Gentleman Purist and friend --...  

While the very sober Pt Zeitwerk is an interesitng offer, fro those who appreciate the digital display of time... I love less and less the concept, and more and more the movement of this Zeitwerk... Which is a real problem. Best, Nicolas.

I love the subdued and elegant look of the Platinum ZW. It is stealthy and classic "New Age" Lange IMHO. I also think the understated dial allows the watch to speak for itself vs. being overpowered by a bold dial. I love all of the ZW's and each has a dif...

I do like this one, I think I'm in the minority that also likes the 'Ghost' version or at least the white gold with black face. I only wish it was a tiny bit smaller as it is quite big...but I love the display a lot. Will never tire of pics of this Andy.

Guten tag, The finishing and the technic is all there, without a doubt. But ultimately, somehow the Zeitwerk for me turns out to be one of the rare few Langes that enters the "Do not like" category, which was why i passed up all chances to get it, even th...

i will go with the majority in your straw poll conducted...PT solid dial. I have seen the Luminous, and not impressed. find it rather gimmicky, IMHO. disc/window base obscures too much anyway. its like a striptease with see thru garments.....and obscuring...

One man's gimmick is another man's genius. A translucent dial makes so much sense with the digital display of the Zeitwerk. Gives a better glimpse on the wrist of the mechanical design and beat. Even allows one to read time in the dark. And it doesn't loo... 

a translucent dial makes sense...but for a disc based dial interface? if i get to see the balance wheel, gears, hairspring etc...it makes more sense that way,to me. when i say gimmicky, please take it with a pinch of salt...its just a Zeitwerkless guy tal...

But I would say in fact the translucent dial makes the most sense with the disc interface below--allows partial light transmission to charge the lume to tell digital time in the dark (first watch I think with this property), with the bonus glimpse of the ... 

To Gary or any owner out there..Ive never seen a ZW in the metal as one has never surfaced at my AD and I've had a question regarding the movement when the watch is running. As the second hand crosses past the '60' and the dial jumps forward one minute, a... 

My brief observation was that the ruby-tipped anchor flips at each minute -- but I have to confess that I didn't spend a great deal of time observing the minute and hour changes... Best, Gary G

...actually sold the standard PT version to another Purist friend when he bought the Luminous, so his strong preference is pretty clear! Thanks for the kind comment. Best, Gary G
