A. Lange & Söhne

Interesting Comparison

I will admit I just had to do a quick background-read to fully appreciate the Zenith, it is a beauty. I enjoy the exposed chain & fusee constant force, even if I would tend to prefer it to be a more stealthy-complication.

From a  time-reading perspective, I would go to the Zeitwerk as the novelty of seeing the instant-change disc never gets old, and the movement is truly breathtaking. I particularly enjoy watching the remontoir mechanism engage through a loupe when I find myself in the mid-afternoon doldrums at my desk.

I find it difficult to compare the two side-by-side due to the stark differences in presentation, although the innovations within are both excellent.

I will admit bias, as a Lange fanboy.. but in this case I think regardless of preconceived bias, the Lange stands above as a marquee piece representing the brand as a standalone.

I've included some photos taken just now for reference below, but I will add that if you are seeking specifically a chain & fusee timepiece which displays time traditionally, perhaps look at the Richard Lange Pour Le Merite. Lange offered this in both Pt and RG, with enamel dial and it has become quite a collectors piece in both metals.

Have you had a chance to try both on? Which way do you find yourself leaning?

Best of luck in your decision and please share pictures when you do decide,

Colton
