I'm almost always in the "never polish" camp...
... because I like to keep the scratches, but I know I'm in the minority there. If you do get it polished, tell them that maintaining the very crisp chamfers on the lugs is very important to you. That's what I'd worry about -- rounding the outer portion of the lugs in a way that eliminates the crisp chamfers. I have a Lange with somewhat rounded lugs and it bothers me.

Hi all, I must have either scuffed this area (bottom right lug edge) by knocking it against something or wiped a bit too vigorously with a contaminated microfiber cloth - I don't normally care about microscratches but this is a bit much, as it is visible ...
I wouldn't bother...
Lange does not lose case shape with repolish supposedly due to their laser welding, but I am not sure I would bother sending a watch in ahead of normal service time just for a polish. Service can take quite some time, especially for more complicated watch...

I feel confident the result should be such an improvement that you will avoid sending it for real polishing. Try and let us know 😉

I have no platinum experience. But i have stainless steel experience. Normally 316L i guess. With cape cod you can do much with stainless steel. But 100% new condition i did never get the scratches away. A top AD who deliver an undamaged watch is in my op...
I know brands can laser weld
I guess I never thought of it, but can this process be done for PM watches too?

I’m very sensitive to polishing on cases, but Lange is the one exception where I would allow them to refinish the case with their laser welding treatment. I’ve seen the results of this and it’s impressive. However the scratches on your lugs wouldn’t bothe...

Well, I am definitely in your minority camp as well
And I know of many other collectors who are in our camp too. Many.
Laser
I was once told by Lange that if they laser part of the plat watch, they would have to polish the whole watch because the part that they laser would he of a different hue then the non laser parts. Is this commonly known to others here?
I don't know if they'd polish the whole watch, but they'd polish that entire part of the case...
