Congrats! The 1815 is a true classic, and you made an excellent choice! Like patrick_y...

I'm another ambivalent HG owner. I like many of Lange's HG combinations -- your watch, the HG metal with a nice eggshell dial, etc. However, the metal itself never quite did it for me. I kept the HG 1815 Moonphase below, which I like, but sold the HG Lange 1 Tourbillon (which was literally the only watch I ever bought that I never wore -- it sat for nearly 10 years with the original hang tags still attached to the strap).

The HG is really the perfect metal.

A little bit special, being non white, but very subtle. I would still love to add an older yellow gold Lange 1, but that aside I don’t think I could best HG in terms of coloured metals.
Different shade of HG

The 1815 Moonphase seems to have a different type of HG as compared with the 1815 200th Anniversary and new 1815 Thin: over time, the earlier HG turns closer to yellow gold, whereas the latter models seem to maintain their paleness.
