As you might've seen, some wearers find the Gen1 PT Dato to be top-heavy, while others have no issue. I think it depends upon what you're used to. If this would be the heaviest, thickest watch you've owned, then you'll likely notice it, and it may bother you. Maybe you'll get used it, maybe not. The weight and thickness end up being a non-issue for most, it seems, but there's definitely a subset for whom these are dealbreakers. My wrist is smaller (154mm) and I've owned the gold but not PT version (though I've worn the PT version mane times), and I find the size and weight to be just fine. But that may be because I have other, thicker watches. Hopefully you can try one sometime -- like if you visit a city with a preowned dealer who has one.
