5396G is my favorite by a tiny margin...
The Lange Saxonia Annual Calendar is a more sophisticated movement in some ways. The movement is very much based off of their perpetual calendar.
However, the classic design statement of the 5396G is just so incredibly beautiful that I would have a hard time not going for this piece.
Love the blued hands on the Lange Saxonia Calendar in white gold.
Just both are very very desirable timepieces. Both are fantastic. Technically, the Lange watch is more superior. However, aesthetically, I do think I love that 5396G look as it reminds me of the Patek Philippe perpetual calendars from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
Such a very hard decision, I can understand why you are so confused. I would go for the Patek Philippe, but only by a tiny margin. Oh, and I'd have to change the strap on the 5396G to a blue strap.
