What will happen?

What will happen if I push hard on the reset button when the chronograph is NOT running? I think there might be some pin to be bent. Not sure if this is the truth.
By the way, according to a friend, she said she used to ask Robert on this question. Robert said nothing happens, and demonstrated on site. But I'm not sure if the button was stopped or he didn't push hard enough.
When the chronograph is running, I can feel the resistance on pushing the reset button. While I don't have the confidence to overcome the resistance when it's not running. There came the question above out of curiosity.
Thanks!

berceuse, That is a dangerous question that may set off hundreds of experiments in PuristS Land resulting in a tsunami of repair requests Seriously, I tried with normal human reasonable force simulating a "mistake" and nothing happened. There was resistan...

Don't try it at home! I meant that when I feel the resistance, I don't dare to push further (as the depth required by resetting the hands). But it did feel like it's possible to push it deeper. If I got a chance to meet Robert by myself again, I would ask...

I tried too.

I cringe at the very thought of tempting fate with such an experiment.

Maybe I'm missing something but why would anything bad happen when chronograph is not running?

I know you should not do that while it is running but the opposite seems benign.
