and it seems to me that ALS seeks for price adjustment. Making a new size with a new price is a good excuse for that, sure no one could see 10k difference in that 3mm, but if you cut the price of current model you gonna piss off the current owners (see sometimes ago AP cut prices for the RG ROO etc). Also releasing a new model can draw more attentions from the market. Now people know theres a ALS at this price point, its design is timeless, its ultra thin.
On the other hand this could also be a steeper cut than it supposed to be, for ALS to "invest" the market.
However my question remains how the other models could go in the coming year, eg. 1815 or saxonia range (BTW I am so glad ALS is still releasing lots of 36,37mm watches)

Saxonia Thin now in 37mm...

And will add this watch to my want to buy list. BTW, your Langematik date is the same size as the saxonia thin. Both are 37 mm's but I think the saxonia will wear a little larger due to the flatness of the case. I have the same Langematik so I would buy t... 

I wonder if this is the beginning of a vicious cycle

But it certainly seems like a stealth price decrease: release a new model (or in this case, a different size of an existing model), and slash the price by about 35-40%. Interesting tactic. But to be honest, I think the 40mm version at nearly $25,000 is mu... 

goes to show how much juice they stand to make from selling watches

i may be banned from this forumn going foward for saying this but we all know how much they stand to make from each watch they sell. It's all a matter of who can hold out longer with this downturn

I can see this making it to my list very easily. The price reduction is a huge plus as well!

Interesting...a lot of smart guys have called for and been waiting for this reckoning.
