A concern ?
Dear friends,
I just notice (on the papers) that during the 2 previous servicing of my Lange 1815 in gold (at the manufacture) the case was polished. I don't like this very much as it "removes matter". Would you feel concerned ?

but I think this is not a concern. My goldsmith told me once when I brought my gold rings for polishing and posed him same question that it will take very very long time i.e. lot and lot of polishing to remove enough matter to be visible by eye Best Damja...

As gold is a dense metal, a basic polish won't remove significant amount of gold atoms, and thus you would not hardly even notice the difference unless you used an uber precise scale to measure the watch before and after polishing. Then again you could al...
