Lange returns to San Francisco
Lange will open a company-owned "salon" in San Francisco in several months. The address will be 140 Geary St. but upstairs on the third floor, not at street level.
I'm not sure what the "salon" concept will look like, but I assume it'll be different from the boutiques we are used to. Once it opens, it'd be great if those who are proximate to it could report on what it's like. Personally, I prefer settings that are less formal than typical boutiques, so this is interesting to me.

Has noticeably gotten worse since the pandemic. I wonder what the obsession with downtown boutiques is, just catering to the business audience I guess? Personally I would be much more inclined to spend some time at a cozy store in Hayes Valley or somewher...

By appointment means we will check you out thoroughly before we buzz you into a heavily protected fortress where only one watch will be shown at a time and the back office will be a doubly re informed safe room. A very very secure boutique.

that you will be able to get a haircut while looking at watches.

Booked my appointment
For this Saturday…need to get my watch serviced and before this salon opened up I would have had to fly to Orange County to drop it off for service!

I lived in NYC 10 years ago and took it to the boutique (and I think it went to him) It was completed in <2 months Will keep you posted on timelines
It won't go to Alkis if you bring it to a Lange boutique.
Alkis doesn't do boutique repairs any longer due to the high-volume workload. It'll go to the Lange-authorized watchmakers who work at the NYC boutique if you drop it off at the SF salon. They handle all the repairs from all boutiques now.

That's awful. Maybe the first SF Lange salon customer to get PTSD during the course of a visit! 4-6 months is pretty normal. Hopefully closer to 4. Did anything surprise you about any of the pieces you tried on?
