Yes, insofar as DB is the latest brand where dealers are trying to limit supply and push up prices.

And DB may become the next most successful attempt of cornering the market after FPJ. DB is arguably much easier to restrict supply as the total production numbers are so much lower than FPJ. I’m glad people are now more aware of this, as when it was happening with FPJ several years ago most people didn’t acknowledge it and kind of dismissed it. It took a number of years for people to connect the dots and realize something artificial was at play in terms of supply of used FPJ watches.
Separately to the question on market dynamics, I will say I have loved DB since first seeing one in the metal.
No question on inventiveness, and for most pieces these days originality of design.
But the appeal is narrow I think and will remain so. They are not watches for every-day for most people simply due to the design (and maybe size also in several models). Maybe this won’t matter quite as much as low production will mean there is a collector out there for every piece. I don’t know.
My hesitation for years was lack of stability on the business side, the same concern I have with Laurent Ferrier. Maybe that is solved now, maybe, and so others with the same hesitation will begin to really consider DB.
