Finishing Touches

While examining a macro of the ref 5207, I noticed that the stamp on the movement contained some imperfections. The tops of some of the letters are not completely filled and appear darker. Would a stamp process versus hand engraving explain the unevenness? Have any other Breguet owners noticed the same?  The second and third images were uploaded just for fun.

One with the same angle as you, and one on the opposite side. It's just shadow for me. ...

...the points where the milling bit begins and ends engraving the letters. The letters aren't stamped, they're cut into the surface. They're not hand engraved, that would have a completely different look. I would assume it's done by CNC.

Maybe laser? [nt]

Interesting thought, I guess that's possible...

...but I do metalwork, making hard to find and custom parts for my cars on a mill and lathe, and the patterns look like standard milling to me. Never had a chance to see what laser engraving looks like.
