Rolex GMT 1675 18k - Concorde hands mini review.

By: Bill : April 23rd, 2021-04:20
The reference Rolex 1675 in gold is great model to own. But when it comes to a unique model with very few example circulating the Rolex 1675 with Concorde hands is a rare reference to own. Rolex 1675 18k Concorde hands First why the name "Concorde hands" ...

I have doubts about the name, to tell all...

I saw other ads with mercedes hour hand and the Concorde. Which removes nothing from the mystery of this version, which as you rightly pointed out, seems to have had a very short life, of one year, one year and a half. I saw much less of those than the 65...

The ad was used for many years just the first time with Concorde

Featured flat Hands with ad date refernce 1968 from the magazine. So yes the ad did appear later with Mercedes hands so the story still stands as it was first seem with Flat long hands aka Concorde. You can see the flat hands selling price $1,125 vs the m...

For fun $1000 from 1968 at 8% inflation

Is $46,000 today so thry had a good base price back in the day considering the evolution.

Hard to say but sounds possible.

The insert is not really the issue as it could be replaced. The no dash combined with mercedes hands also sounds like it could be a good match. For a better idea the serial range and a picture would be helpful. But in any case no real alarm bells. Bill

Thanks Bill, will see if I can get the serial no. on Monday.

Rolex 1675 GMT 18k price list 1967 , 1968 and 1969 reference.

By: Bill : January 2nd, 2016-09:24
Here we can establish the correlation between the ad price and the official Rolex price list whic gives a clear indication of the time period. Oldest ad with $1,100 price circa 1968 to set the base line of the Rolex 1675 gmt with Concorde hands. We start ...

Not many information available on the early GMT 1675/8. This is definitely a very informative one SBK

No, I'm going for Milgauss Concorde :-)

Bill, you might have created a massive value increase of the Milgauss with this post ;-) ...

Flat hands are found in various models but not the lightening bolt.

The reason the gmt reference with concorde hands is important is the unique nature just like the gmt with dauphine hands. Very short run. Bill

Great write up. Thanks!

Love this reference, and I think if I ever buy a watch in a colored gold it will be a 1675 or a 1680.

Great review thanks!

I have Concorde and described, it has the dash between oyster and perpetual, But when you do a search on the net, most appear without this dash, do this mean that the watches without the dash has replacement dials? Or was the watch available with both? Re...

These watches with the Concorde hands had a very short run.

By: Bill : May 8th, 2016-07:22
They came after the gold no crown guard 1675 which shared the same style dial with the dash. With Rolex we never say never, I was not in the factory in 1968/9 nor am I the original owner, but my experience is that the dash is without a doubt correct while...
