A juxtaposition of greens

Jun 19, 2021,14:16 PM

With the predominance of new green pieces this year, it is interesting to note the range of green hues.  The lighting of course makes all the difference in bringing out the deeper green pieces e.g. Hulk and Reverso.  But I present this for you all to judge for yourselves.  My favorite of the green hues is quite possibly that of the Baltic, which while being a ‘no frills’ manual watch, in this case this piece was made for the Gulf market where green appears to be a cultural favorite.

Regardless, on the whole, I like the relative impressions of strength, inclusiveness, and sustainability that green has on me in contrast to blue.  Ultimately it’s all within context.
Thanks for looking.

which I’m pretty sure started before this year’s new releases. Next time I go to safe I’ll see what else qualifies.

That’s a beautiful, deep emerald green!

GS make amazing dials and overall pieces. This one is new to me, but is amongst the top, especially given lack of date window. Thanks for sharing this.

Made for the Tong Sia retailer from 2019 indeed

In my earlier days of collecting, I flipped my Genta mickey F1 Singapore edition. This turned out to be a big regret because I miss the piece, and find myself searching for a replacement. I heard HK has some old Genta mickey pieces, but I want to go in pe...

I know, right?! I like it a lot.

Despite obvious price differential, the Baltic bicompax 2 does have a vintage charm as well as nice dial/subdials patterns. They also have a salmon dial chrono24 from a collaboration last year with Worn&Wound.

Green with envy.

Lovely collection of greens. I hope to acquire a military green dial on a limited edition that my watch club is collaborating on with a niche german brand. Hope to be able to share it by the end of the year.

Could really use one of those to go with his green jacket when he returns to Augusta next year - or the entire collection

The allure of green becomes much more evident in a line up like this

It's a nice assortment of watches too, which helps. I have to say I'm quite taken. One green dial watch I've been eyeing lately is this Czapek Quai des Bergues. It's 'Rainforest Green.' Its dial takes after a pocket watch design from Czapek's previous inc...
