Oliver, do you think

Dec 11, 2014,08:35 AM

they won't make 5131 (map) P and R because they focus on these 5131 with Geneva Harbour ?

So maybe stop making  between 50 and 100  5131 ( with map)  because they wish to make a few dozen with the harbour ?

I thought the one with harbour was only for their 175th anniversary and I would not expect seeing these a few years in production

... for the collector and/or connoisseur, the references 5131-175G and 7131-175R ? A world timer (complication) from Patek Philippe sings loud to quite a lot of fellow PuristS here (and not only PuristS) and if there is enamel on-top it doesn´t hurt, not ...

A world timer for ladies, the Ref. 7131/175R-001

The colors of the dial and not only the enamel part are just beautiful. If you try to play with the light, there is lots of drama to see and without diamonds in the bezel this could be my personal favorite world timer – even with a diameter of 36mm. But I...

Is different... It is the same than on the 5110 / 5130... Which is a detail I prefer. These Vintage PP WTs are topissime. It was a good idea to post them, here! Best, Nicolas

For the gentleman or shall I say connoisseur, we have the Ref. 5131/175G-001.

No matter if I look at it on pictures or in the metal, it takes my breath away. Can you imagine the sweet and painful dreams I had after I saw it the first time? No, you can´t. Well, I won´t argue about different tastes. Still I will try to convince you …...

I find all enamel Pateks very poetic and this WT edition is just the same

By: COUNT DE MONET : December 10th, 2014-13:56
The world in enamel on the dial is certainly "big", poetic too but an rather unusual theme has the charm of the unexpected. It shows just a glimpse of a scene in this world invites you to explore more than just the glimpse and dive into the details. The w...

i didn't know that ref 5131 had officially change in 2013 from 001 to 014 Could you give your point of you concerning these changes: the cities changed, but what change concerning dials: colors , technics?

Great Post and very informative

By: abe : December 10th, 2014-16:21
I, also did not know that the 5131 were changed in 2013 with the cities layout. This would potentially make the newer version a lot rarer due to extremely short production run if they are indeed discontinued.

Many thanks again Oliver

for your precise answer I wondered since a long time why my 5131 was different from the recent one. I understand now Huge thread, congratulations to that big work

Thank you for this report,

The 5131-175G is a true beauty. While there are other world timers with enamel dials, the work on this dial is clearly more detailed and artistic in my humble opinion. The fact that this watch will be the rarest modern Patek world timer ( lowest productio...

Yes, it is challenging :-) I agree with your observations regarding the quality and I like your WT a lot. Thanks for your reply, H.! Oliver

Reading it a second time

I see you explained the differences in your post About being discontinued or not, I got an answer from a patek salon and they confirmed. J and G 5131 are discontinued ! Will they make one in red gold or platinum... No answer on this question

Thanks for the update, Bruno!

I expect not to see any R or P versions. To me it would be almost strained. Cheers, Oliver

I don´t think there is a relationship between the "maps" and the "harbours" as it is a different level of enamel. 5131 P or R with a map, I don´t expect to see them. To me the topic is slightly strained and I would expect to see something totally differen...

Vintage is different, because the target group was much smaller and the working conditions have been different. From 1989 to 2014 the amount of commemorative pieces increased a lot, but still a lot of people won´t get anything. Good or bad?! Cheers, Olive...

Outstanding post dear Oliver

Great report! So if I understand correct the 5131G&J/001 and the 5131G&J/010/014 have not only different citys, they are also a little different considering the layout and details of the email-cloissonée? And if 5131/014 and 010 were introduced in...

"they are also a little different considering the layout and details of the email-cloissonée?" Yes, they are different in execution and I guess also the people in charge for the dials are different ones. "And if 5131/014 and 010 were introduced in 2013, t...

With such high quality enamel finishing, it must have been a lot of efforts in making all these pieces. These special pieces must have been offered first to the big VIPs within the VIPs circle. Hope some of our forum members got allocations and post more ...

Gordon, I share your hope.

the colors are "softer" in real. Some of the official pictures don´t judge the dial, not at all. Me tried to improve here, but I am still not 100% happy with my results. You don´t go to Geneva? Anyway, we will meet in Basel :-) Cordially, Oliver
