Well, date at 6 permits to hold the head straight, at least ....
... while it always was so uncomfortable to twist either arm or head in order to read the date numbers upright, as long as the date window was located at 4:30. Personally, I think it was a good decision to relocate the date window. Now the dial appears more symmetrical, especially the "Pilot" benefits from this, IMHO.

I'm not a fan of this type of overlap. I could tolerate the seconds minutes over hours one. The Captain Chrono and Defy handle the issue well by reducing the size of the hour subdial. But also the date at 6 is a serious problem for me.
