another gripe I have with the date
is that placing it at 6 highlights how small the movement in relationship to the dial, in a way it looks like it lifts the center of the watch. In general I don't want to see other numbers where I'm expected to read the hour.

I'm not a fan of this type of overlap. I could tolerate the seconds minutes over hours one. The Captain Chrono and Defy handle the issue well by reducing the size of the hour subdial. But also the date at 6 is a serious problem for me.
