At first I thought everyone was being to nit-picky on the issue of the overlap. I was wrong. It is amazingly annoying. I was thinking of the stratos and especially the alchron version, but the the overlap killed me. It seems though the overlap is an intentional thing. Because if u look at the Captain crono there is no overlap and everything can be read and seen. Why not do the same thing with the rest of the variants. Makes no sense. I mean the starts looks amazon ing and that alchron is so light. But the overlap. Honestly I'd rather have a defy Nataf style sameevel of unreadability but with more pimp to it

So ho have u gotten over the overlap?
Not usin the seconds and minute counters ?or
Used them but guessed?

But the manner of the overlap here - with the portion of overlap being small, and the hour subdial in the background (it is in the foreground in the Dufour models), makes the layout eminently readable without compromising on the distinctiveness of the design. Why try to fix something if it ain't broke?

Exactly what I was trying to say. That overlap works perfect and the functions are a hundred percent. Why o why did they do a new o erlap system? Makes absolutely no sense. Must have been a brain fart on the design teams side. With all the great watches there putting out. All we can hope for is a new dial layout In 2012.

For all of those who do own these models how hard was it to get over the design? Also would it be better to wait for next year or just deal with what is out there.(not that I'm getting two zenith this yea( haven't finished paying of the first one but nevertheless should I wait and see or is that dial overlap here for the foreseeable future?

I'm not a fan of this type of overlap. I could tolerate the seconds minutes over hours one. The Captain Chrono and Defy handle the issue well by reducing the size of the hour subdial. But also the date at 6 is a serious problem for me.

... while it always was so uncomfortable to twist either arm or head in order to read the date numbers upright, as long as the date window was located at 4:30. Personally, I think it was a good decision to relocate the date window. Now the dial appears more symmetrical, especially the "Pilot" benefits from this, IMHO.

is that placing it at 6 highlights how small the movement in relationship to the dial, in a way it looks like it lifts the center of the watch. In general I don't want to see other numbers where I'm expected to read the hour.
