Thanks for sharing nilomis. I do not disagree all the points you have made. They are all well said. Persons and Passion : Undoubtedly Charles Vermot is very important in the history of Zenith. You also have mentioned about the contribution of Nataf at Zen... 

Of course, I consider that people and not companies are the creators of the watches. Without those, I dare to say genius, what is left are boring and repeated pieces. Zenith, as many other manufacturers, has lucky to have some key persons along a very ric... 

Thanks for this excellent and passionate article, Nilo. I much less know Zenith than you, for sure. And much less love the brand. Still, I am hunting several watches from the brand, such as the Zenith Special, the EP 1969, but the original, the Cal 135 ( ... 

In France and Sweden ... what is left? (joking). Zenith and GP are the best keep secrets on this hobby. Affordable and magnificent pieces. In respect to your choices, 135 and the S 58, I never ever saw one here on the tropics. Thank you for your comments,...

Their service cost :( If you look around you can find Nice chronos, el primero and others between euro 2 and 4 k A real bargain. But 700 euro for a service is very much if we re talking about a de Luca which can be found for 2.7 k That said, they are one ... 

But it happens with any brand. The cost for a complete service is not direct related to the price of the watch. Imagine the collectors of a lesser brand where the service cost can go to about twice the price of the watch! At least Zenith is one of the few... 

I took my Defy to service center in Shanghai listed on the Zenith website, Turns out they outsource the servicing to a company called Hengdeli that service brands like OLMA, Fendi, Charriol, Dior, Victorinox. Granted some of their watchmakers have been ce... 

And Zenith is not alone on this matter. That is the reason that I prefer to use my watchmaker, despite of the eventual parts issues. The solution could be trivial if the brands are willing to certify true watchmakers and revert back, for the certified one...
