We await confirmation to your question about that specific series 2 of Zenith Chronomaster.
Meanwhile, I asked an expert (LouS) for the origins of the movement in Zenith Chronomasters.
"The movement that Chronomasters were based on was introduced in 1970 and powered a model called the Espada. It then nearly disappeared from the earth when Zenith's new corporate owners tried to obliterate mechanical watch production in 1975 (that's why I observe that as a watershed). Fortunately, it was hidden by the famous Charlie Vermot, to emerge from concealment in 1984, when Zenith became independent again and resumed movement manufacture. The Chronomaster wasn't introduced until sometime after that."
