BASELWORLD - ZENITH PILOT

I was fortunate enough to make it over to Baselworld for a day this year, not long enough to take in all of the magnificent brands, but i already had the major brands in mind that i wanted to see, Zenith of course being one of them. In particular their new Pilot collection.

The Zenith booth, like most of the major player's booths, was awesome and displayed some of the brand's chronometry certificates on the outside walls (a guy from Zenith told me that they are the industry's most awarded brand, over 2000 prizes I think he said!) as well as some of the brand's historical pieces - including some amazing Pilot watches.

This piece is the inspiration for the amazing new Aeronef Type 20 (the GIANT 57mm one!!!), the hands and numerals are recognisable - great history behind the watch:

The lovely Zenith staff allowed me to see the new 2012 Pilot's watches, this one is great - beautiful design, perfect strap and of course the famous El Primero:

It's great to see Zenith using their deep military / aviation history for inspiration - I also saw the Doublematic and the HUGE Aeronef Type 20, overall I was incredibly impressed by the whole collection and judging by how busy the Zenith booth was, alot of other people were too! Even Arnold Schwarzenegger turned up on the booth to check out the BIG ONE!!

Definitely one for the shopping list
