The Ultra-Wars …
Hi Art,
You won’t have to wait long for more information. As usual I enjoyed delving into the history of the watch and have posted some details on HoMe.
The interesting thing about the “Ultra-Chron” seems to be that it was competing directly with the new-fangled and costly “Ultra-Quartz” watch (Cal. 6512) introduced in 1969. Although this particular cybernetic watch was a bit of an evolutionary dead end, we know who won the electronic versus mechanical wars … or do we?

I like it because its one tough cookie - I can play golf with it and do vigorous clapping without fear of damage to the movement. Its a pretty heavy watch but fortunately for the rubber strap it sits comfortably on the wrist.
